It’s May —

And in our house, that means BASEBALL.

I’ve been doing a little sewing, I had a rather large upholstery job that took about three weeks, so I’m getting ready to quilt and sew again.

My Gammill hasn’t been cooperating, and hopefully I’ll have it back tomorrow, but what a frustrating machine, I think I got a lemon, so I haven’t been enjoying it as I should. Hope my progress picks up, or they may be picking it up.

Otherwise, I’m including a couple of squares of our block of the month, it’s a scrappy look, just waiting to quilt it.

I will keep you updated on my progress.

Check it out …

I’ve finished my stained glass quilt, and delivered it. No photo of it up as my cousin slacked on his only responsibility of getting a rod. But I have a photo of the finished project.

On to something new. We were invited to a birthday party for a twelve year old girl. Thought of what I would have liked, and got her makeup and hair stuff. I meant to take a photo prior to wrapping, but I did take a photo of the bag I made her.

Well I’m off to finish a book, so enjoy the photo’s and I’ll update soon.

I’m being brave

I’m working on a stained glass quilt for my cousin Missy, she is currently in the hospital, and I want to get it done by the time she comes home. It’s going to be close.

I started quilting it on my Bernina, but figured it’d take forever, plus not five feet away is sitting my Gammill. Now I don’t think my Gammill likes me to much, I’ve been told he may be jealous of my love of Bernina, so I need to be more patient, and “get over” my need of perfection. It’s not easy, but I’m trying.

I’m sure she’ll love it. I’ll update the progress.

Until next time, happy sewing!

Yes … It’s been way to long!

And I’m sorry about that. When I last blogged, I was mentioning my Gammill, well I’m still working on becoming proficient, it’s going slow, but I have heat, tables and I have moved into my sewing studio. Even though I can get very frustrated with my husband, he’s been working on the room, we still have a bit to do, but here is a preview.  Tomorrow I’ll give you a preview on our quilt block of the month. Until then happy sewing!

Not to much sewing today.

Woke up early for games, weren’t to successful, but hoping for better results tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Today was a good day!

I had a lesson on my Gammill today. I’m becoming way more confident, I hope to put on the QFH on tomorrow, I have a pantographs with roses, I’ll practice today, and go for it tomorrow, I’ll keep you posted on that.

We have a busy weekend, four baseball games, starting at 900A tomorrow.

Happy sewing!

It’s offical

I’m insane. I’ve started another one, a pinwheel quilt, it’s going to be 40X102 (about) 3 inch squares. I think this should be a little easier though, I’ve bought 18 different fabrics, so I’m going to do 18 at a time. I’ll post photo’s at a later date. (After I’ve done more than one group.)

Well, my son had his first fall ball games, they had a double header on Saturday, and lost both games, hopefully they’ll do better next weekend. He’s 13. My 11 year old daughter loves basketball, so that’ll start in a couple of months.

Until tomorrow.

What a glorious day

It’s finally finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quilt from hell is missing only the boarders, then it’ll get mounted to my long arm and off she goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also finished quilting a quilt made by my mom. Many generations involved, because my Mother made it, my Grandmother did the hand sewing, and I quilted, all for my step-brothers grandaughter.

Well, talk to you soon!

September 8

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I work at fabric shop sewing custom baby bedding for a company “Henry & Henrietta”. There is a large baby expo in Las Vegas, and I’ve been sewing non stop helping design five new bedding lines.

Anyway, my Gammill is finally here, and I finally have had time to play. I really like doing grid work, which I’ve found out in the long arm world is called cross hatch, there are two rulers that I purchased separately, so as on the photo’s you can see that’s what I started with, probably not the smartest thing to start with. I’ve ripped out as much as I’ve put in, but it’s the only way to learn.

I’ll post again tomorrow, and show my progress.

August 7

Well, as you may be able to tell, I’ve changed the way my blog is laid out, I had to, otherwise, no photo’s. I like it, the photo in the header is of fabric we carry, so if you like it, shoot an email.

I’m getting there on my QTH.

So has anyone checked out the BerninaUsa.com website? Have you seen the new 830? I’m getting depressed just thinking about it, walking by it everyday at the fabric shop where I work, I may have to start going in the back way so I don’t have to look at. But who knows, I’m waiting for my step-dad to win lotto.

Have a happy quilting day!
