Well, it’s been quite a while since my last blog.
Why? you ask…
I got my long arm, and I can tell you it wasn’t what I expected. I’ve only quilted 10 quilts on it. I was having big tension problems, that try as I might I couldn’t fix. I spent hours on the phone with both the dealer and Gammill. At my perseverance, and three long years, I was finally able to get there.
Any advise I can give anyone looking to purchase a long arm, is to ask MANY questions to the dealer and or sales rep. I thought I was, but when I finally looked at what I bought, the machine is to small for me and what I want to do. While I am able to do some wonderful pantographs, I am not able to do the larger ones I thought I would be able to do when I purchased the machine. The biggest question to ask is “what is the sewing area?”
I am starting to like the machine again. The biggest help I received was from Gammill. I am grateful that there is another option for dealers in my area. I would NEVER purchase anything from the Gammill dealer in Vermont. They dropped the machine off, waved goodbye and never looked back. I called, I called and I called, the only option they gave me for assistance was a almost a 10 hour round trip drive to there location. Even though I started calling them within 2 weeks of taking delivery of the machine. The sales rep who lives 1/2 hour from my home wouldn’t call me back, much less offer help, other than calling Gammill.
With the help of my neighbor Bruce, and Aubry at Gammill, it is sewing, and I actually have beautiful tension.
I am going to start advertising locally and hope I can get going.
Here are some photo’s of what I’ve been able to accomplish. … FINALLY …
